Blue Opal Aztec Calendar Pendant and Earring Set
This is an artisan pendant and earring set from Taxco, Mexico. The pendant is 1 inch in diameter, the earrings are ¾ inch in diameter. The design is a hand carved silver Aztec Calendar surrounded by blue lab opals. The edge of the pendant and earrings are a sparkly diamond-cut. Beautiful work by the artisans of Taxco!
The necklace is not included.
About lab opal…
Laboratory opal is man-made but not synthetic. It is grown for over a year and has a structure very similar to natural precious opal. Lab opals have significant advantages over naturally occurring opals. The first is cost, precious opals are expensive. Lab grown opals do not contain water (natural opals do) and are not prone to cracking. Lastly, the color is stable.

Since the year 2000, I have traveled to Taxco, Mexico to buy jewelry for Silver Dream. I personally select each piece. This set is from Taxco and it is silver plated.
